Economy vs. Drop Axle lift kit
Hi, I have a 2004 EZGO TXT Gas, and I'm looking to lift it up. I was pretty sold on getting a drop axle lift kit, but when I went online to order one I was reminded of the economy lift kit which cost quite a bit less.
Are there any significant advantages of getting the drop axle vs. the economy? I couldn't find anything from google so I figured this would probably be the best place to ask. I was particularly looking at these two from eBay. Econ. http://www.ebay.com/itm/EZGO-Medalis...#ht_761wt_1002 Drop Axle http://www.ebay.com/itm/Lift-Kit-axl...#ht_500wt_1163 Of course, there are cheaper economy lift kits, but that one included shipping and everything too. Thanks in advance for the help! |

Re: Economy vs. Drop Axle lift kit
It comes down to what you can afford, and how you want it to look.I figure for a cart that is just running around the property, doing yard-work,maybe some trails occasionally, the money saved on the axle can buy other parts. There isn't any real difference overall between the 2,other than looks.I built my drop-axle,I could have built blocks as well. Its' just another choice to make.I love the look of the drop-axles for a big-cart though!Hope this helps

Thanks for the reply!
I noticed a while ago that my cart was somewhat lopsided. I just went out and seems that the leaf springs are level. Do you think that it might be the shocks? |

Re: Economy vs. Drop Axle lift kit
The shocks don't do anything except cushion the bouncing. The only way they can affect ride-height is if one is seized in place.Probably a weak spring.Alot of carts lean to the left, since most of the time they only have a driver on them.Switch the springs side to side, see if the lean follows.Hope this helps.

I figured out the bracket holding the shock was actually a bit bent, someone must of hit something, because there's also a chunk missing in right behind it in the bumper thing. I think I'm going to go with drop-axle kit. |
