Default exhaust fumes with rear seat

Has anyone had any issues with the exhaust after putting a rear seat on a golf cart? I have a 1985 Club Car DS gas cart.

My old 2 stroke EZGO used to make my wife sick to ride due to the exhaust smell. Even after I extended the tailpipe. So I found a company on line that sells an additive for the gas that makes it smell like one of 20-30 different scents. I used the Grape.
