2006 EZ GO ST Sport 2+2 Moves Slow
I am quite new to golf carts and this is my first. I recently purchased 2006 EZ GO ST Sport 2+2 that is 48v. It supposedly had been upgraded to a more performance motor. I crawled under it and it is GE motor. It sits on 19" rims, 24" full height of the tire. The first thing I notice is the meter is stuck flashing on the last two empty bars. I have fully charged it and still only flashes the last to bars. I have read some threads that talk about it not reseting properly or maybe it bad. I would say it is pushing 15-17mph. From reading other threads, it should be moving faster. Where do I start to check if everything is correctly?
Thanks |

Welcome !!!
You need to use a volt meter to get a reading on the pack voltage, you meter is not giving you accurate info. |

E-z go sports actually are pretty heavy due to the backseat-kit and all that battery weight...The motor may have been upgraded to a torque motor to let it handle more weight not gain speed. More info needed off motor...

The voltages given are taken 12 hours after the charger turns off automatically. 50.96V is 100%, so at 53V you are reading the surface charge batteries acquire during the final stage of the charge cycle. In addition to more info about the motor, what controller do you have? Also, get rid of that LED bar graph type State of Charge meter and get a DVM type. Even an old analog type is more reliable. |

I am not sure what kind of control I have in it. I did get the model number off the motor. GE 5hp 5BC4BJB3004 is what I think it reads if that helps
