Default Dust Cap Removal

Hi I'm new to the forum and have a question about removing the dust caps off my 1994 E Z GO Marathon (36V electric). Do they pop off with a little prying (hammer and screw driver) or is there another way? I just got the cart and want to check the rear brakes and bearings. I tried getting the dust covers off tonight, they did start to separate a little (using a hammer/screw driver), but wouldn't come off and I didn't want to force it and damage anything......I know....dumb question....sorry, but thanks in advance for any advice!

Once you get it started move around and work it in a circle. If you try to pry it off from one point it will get lop sided and because of the close tolerance fit will get wedged tighter.

Thanks 1moretoy . I got the rear drivers side about 1/16 of an inch all the way around and it just wouldn't budge after that......I guess I was close. They have probably never been off, which is why they are such a PITA. I'll keep trying, or should I say prying........
