DS Gas Club Car Just Clicks

Hi Everyone,

I have a weird one. My cart (1984) stopped running & it will just click when I turn it on. The brushes, generator, & starter are ok. I was changing the oil & accidently leaned on something, the cart started even though the starter switch was off. I turned the key, put it in gear & rode the cart around. I had to pull the spark plug wire to get it to turn off & of course, now it won't run. I had replaced the mircro switches, starter switch & battery. I noticed that there is a clicking originating from the voltage regulator & the coil when the key is off. I had been blowing the 10 amp coil fuse but that seemed to have subsided. I have checked for shorts & have replaced a couple of wires, I have cleaned all of the ground wire connections, I have continuity in all wires. Any suggestions?

try disconnecting the solenoid it sounds like either it has a short or you broke off a ground strap to the engine.
