Club Car DS 48V goes but pauses when decelerating
My neighbor has a 48V DS that the batteries are new, has a 1 year old OBC, 4 ga. cables all good. What happens is that it takes off fine. Whenever I decelerate or stop it acts like it does not want to go but after a few seconds it takes off. If going down hill sometimes it will not take off right away but if I wait a bit it takes off again.
Could this be a solenoid? |

Depending on how "impatient" you are (eg a few seconds), you might just be describing how Regen works. Does it have a Rocker switch for forward & reverse, or a lever?

I also have a 48V Club Car DS and the pause/hessitation is longer...substantially...than on my cart. Might take 10 seconds to take off again.

OK - 10 seconds is too long. There are a number of generations of Regen (rocker switch type) - Incl Regen I, II, IQ etc. What year is your cart - and of even greater value....what is the serial number?
Long or momentary delays can often be as simple as poor/loose connections - not just the battery cables, but various small wires (eg. keyswitch, small terminals on solenoids, accelerator pot/MCor or the connections to controller etc.) That should be your first mission - checking, cleaning and snugging all of those. |

Yes, we really need the serial number- it is behind the go pedal under the dash.

I was wrong, it is a lever for F/W.
Serial # is A9803-642256 |

Re: Club Car DS 48V goes but pauses when decelerating
Ok so it sounds like you have a 48v series cart. Is there a pie shaped box in the battery compartment? That would be the v-glide. If there is no v-glide, it probably has a pot box, which is under the go pedal under the cart...

Re: Club Car DS 48V goes but pauses when decelerating
I would take the cover off the v-glide and make sure the contacts are clean and the wiper arm is moving its full range. Make sure the cart is off and in neutral when you do this...
