Default Stupid questions from a beginner

I've had my cart about a month. Did the total rebuild from ScottyB I have a few questions that probably sound stupid to some but here goes
1) my cart is mainly a hunting cart, can I put skid plates underneath to prevent sticks from getting into electronics/battery compartment?
2) is it ok to put my DPI charger on a metal stand for charging. Too hard to see from the ground, and a little worried about heat from the charger on wood or plastic while it is unattended.
3) what is the best thing to put on battery terminals? I know I have read Vaseline but I was unsure how messy that may be.

1) Yes, your only limitation there will be your fab skills or access to someome who can fab.

2) Yes

3) I use battery terminal protectant - it comes in a little aerosol can and is usually red when sprayed.

Thanks for replying YellowCC. My fab skills aren't the greets but I get by. I mainly wanted to make sure that i wouldn't run into trouble by sealing the battery compartment up somewhat. I have used the red spray on my vehicles but wasn't sure if there was a better option for this type battery. Thx again.

Place charger on an upside down bucket.... Fab skill extraordinaire!

A light coat of Vaseline on spray on terminal protectant your choice...
