The three of us went on another excursion today. When it died I immediately checked the controller heatsink. It was pretty hot. Checked battery voltage, it was 37.6v. Let it cool while we tried to catch grasshoppers. About 20 minutes. Ran great.
I'm going to call the place I bought the cart from. Perhaps they will just swap it out or make me a great deal on another stock controller.

Another stock controller will most likely do the same thing with those bigger tires.

scottyb's packages are all inclusive. I just bought one last friday, recieved it monday night and drove off the same night. Controller, solenoid, resistor, diode and wiring adapter all come together. You will be ready to roll.

And don't forget, his instructions are very good, compared to eBay. Buy a package, not parts and pieces. You will also be supporting a site sponsor.

Scottyb, If I go with the pkg 808, do I need to upgrade cables to 4g? Will I have to buy a solenoid or anything else?

I'm sure Scottyb will have an answer for you, but in my opinion, absolutely. I already had 4 ga cables when I upgraded to a 500 amp controller and did a few test runs before I switched the battery cables to 2 ga. The 4 ga cables got much warmer than the 2 ga cables do. Any time heat is being developed in the cables or connections, that is energy being lost. 6 ga definitely is not adequate for 400 amps or more.

Can you get away with it? Yes you can if you need to short term for budget purposes, but I wouldn't push things too hard without bigger cables.

2007 cart I believe? Probably already has the 4 gauge main wires with the exception of the battery jumpers. 6 gauge will be a bit small and heat is bad, causes things to melt

You will need 4g cables through the whole system. There are 10pcs in all. Pkg 808 includes a HD 200/800 amp solenoid with resistor and diode. So pkg 808 and 4g cable set is really all there is to the amperage delivery system.

YES, If Alltrax knows you are running that controller on 6g wires or wimpy solenoid, they can void your warranty on the controller. Plus, you are risking all your equipment to melt-down with wimpy wires & solenoid. #808 is controller & solenoid, new wires looks like extra. If i'm incorrect, i apologize in advance.
