Default Series motor direction

Put a new F/R switch on my friend's cart and have the direction reversed. Would reversing A2 and S2 reverse the direction the motor turns?

I think reversing the wires from S1 and S2 is generally what you need to do to. Those are the field wires and the polarity of those determines the direction. I would not move A2. Get another opinion because I am not sure what model cart you have.

This may sound crazy but I had the same problem today. In F, the tires turned backwards, in R, the tires went forward. If you've got the same type of switch, the armature might be on backwards. There are two possible ways of attaching that arm that comes over from the lever. Just a thought.

Guys......the two cables you need to switch are the ones on the S1 and S2......and another way to do this is the switch the other ends as well at the F&R so switch the two cables at the 9 o'clock and 3 o'clock position on the switch.

This is a very common issue........
