ID help
I bought a golf cart and need help with what model it is (txt, marathon, etc.) the id tag in the passenger side compartment reads
H199 1192929 Looking to put a cheap small lift kit on it and some knobby tires for my 11 year old son to ride around in the woods behind the house. Any recommendations on a cheap lift and cheap knobby tires? Thank You,Ken |

Re: ID help
That serial number is for a 1999 TXT Series cart (Series meaning a series wound motor)
As long as you stay with a tire height less than about 20", you probably won't need to lift the cart, raising the center of gravity and making it easier for you son to tip over sideways. Tires taller than stock (18") increase speed and reduce torque. Stock speed is about 14 MPH, so 20" tires will up the speed to about 15.5 MPH and cut the available torque by about 10%. |
