Default 2012 Precedent Light Kit Problems

I have a 2012 Precedent with 6 8 volt batteries. I bought a deluxe light kit and began to install and didn't get much past step 1. I took off the instrument panel and went to plug in the male 12 pin connector into the female 12 pin connector, but I didn't have a 12 pin connector. I only have a 9 pin connector that goes into the instrument panel.

I need help. I saw a couple of posts that addressed this but no solutions. The kit I bought is for 2008.5 or newer. I also bought the voltage reducer and have that.

I can't believe I couldn't find more information about this. If its out there please point me in the way. The kit was supposed to be plug and play but...not so much.

Please help. Thanks in advance.

Maybe your cart isn't really a 2012 model. I say that because I have a re-manufactured 2010 Precedent but it is really a 2006 Precedent. It fooled me when I ordered a dash kit. Just out of curiosity what is your 12 digit VIN number?

Thanks for the reply. I checked the VIN and it is a 2012.

I am reporting back so others can hopefully find this beneficial.

It turns out that Club Car stopped running the tail light wires and therefore the "bucket harness" is required. Essentially you have to completely run all the wires for the lights.

That is correct. Halfway through the 2008 model year, the Precedent i2 was released. It featured a different dash compartment and a different battery bucket configuration capable of using 6x8 volt batteries instead of the 4x12 volt batteries. All i2 Precedents must use the bucket harness when adding lights. They are not pre-wired unless they are gas powered.
