Re: Run Time
I bet the lights and radio is run off of a 16-to 12 reducer. The problem becomes the 2 batteries that the reducer runs off are out of sync with the rest of the battery pack. Volt meter will confirm if this is the case

Re: Run Time
actually I ran the radio and lights directly off of 2 batteries which puts out 16v, but that does not seem to be an issue (but I am not a pro).

Re: Run Time
Don't know if this is your case but I've heard of people wiring the new batteries in wrong or not reconnecting the charger correctly and only charging 5 batteries. Double check your wiring and battery placement and let us know what the pack voltage is.

Re: Run Time
Okay.....a little more testing today. Rested batteries measured 50.33v. Rode the cart for about a mile and watched the multimeter. The voltage was going crazy. It would drop down to the 20's and everywhere in between. WHen I parked the cart, I did not hook up the charger and the voltage started increasing from 40vt back up to 48vt. The cart would barely climb even the slightest incline (thought I was going to have to push a couple of times). Measured each battery and 5 of them measured 8.7 and 1 measured 7.0. So, I guess I lost a battery somehow. I called the cart guy and he is going to check it all out tomorrow. I have made it a PRIORITY to break these batteries in correctly. All water levels and connections are perfect. Would that one battery cause the pack to drop down in the 20's? That just seems odd to me.

Re: Run Time
Sounds like one battery is not in the charging circuit. Check where the red wire from the charge plug hooks to.

Re: Run Time
Well, the golf cart guy said that my issue was my charger. He said it was not letting the batteries fully charge and he had to replace a breaker in it. Don't understand that, but I am going to pick the cart up here shortly and maybe he can explain it a little better. Does this sound right?

Re: Run Time
No, With a bad breaker it wouldn't have worked at all. He probably found something simple like the batteries wired wrong and he didn't want to insult your intelligence so he's telling you it was a bad breaker.
