Default Solenoids

The standard EZ-Go solenoid for a DCS/PDS/TXT is a White-Rodgers in most cases where the RXVs are using a Trombetta. I know the cable locations are a little different but shouldn't a Trombetta work in place of a WR ? And would it still fit under the cover ? Only reason I ask is I try to keep one of each around just in case and the Trombetta is $10 cheaper..

Compare specs for high and low side as well as physical size to get the answer.
all this info should be available on the internet

Cheaper is rarely better. In the case of heavy electrical load, I think I'd opt for better not cheaper.....unless you like fried @$$

All news Yamahas come with Trombetta and honestly I have replaced far fewer of them than Whites Rodgers, but for every upgraded cart I build I use WR...Not sure about fitment either sorry...

For those who care

Trombetta 684-3681-012-14 $18
Current 150 Amps, Inrush 800 Amps (depending on voltage)
Numbers translate to Power Seal, Non-Grounded, Standard Power Seal, 36 volts, Bracket type, Standard bracket location, Continuous duty, Silver Alloy Stationary contacts with Silver Alloy Movable Contacts, Sealed Design..

White Rogers 70-120224 $28

50 amp Continuous and 200 amp Inrush

And yes the Trombetta is larger so may not fit but I have a standard solenoid bracket and a controller cover so once it gets here I will see and report back..

The yamaha was using the bigger trombetta "bear", it has specs that rival the best W/R found on a golf cart. I believe Yamaha has since switched to the smaller trombetta for all models (not a bad unit) like used on current Rxv & Txt.

Thumbs up Re: Solenoids

I was down at Grahams golf carts a few weeks ago. They have moved all the selonoids out of the controller box and mounted them seperately under the old F/R hat cover because of heat build up on all their refurbed carts.

Thumbs up Re: Solenoids

Yes they said it was a problem on all the models that had them under the controller boxes.
