Default Digital Voltmeter reading of batteries very high

So I installed my new Digital Voltmeter from Scott at Carts Unlimited. My cart is 48 volt Club Car. Works great, I decided to go directly to the batteries and not use the key switch. Question - with my charger plugged in, and the batteries at full charge, I'm getting a reading of over 60 volts, is this normal? I un-plugged the charger last night and the reading this morning is now in the low 50's. Any thoughts?
Thanks

Sounds normal to me. The charger will build the voltage up to as mush as 60+ volts before charger turns off.

Okay, just wasn't sure. I'm getting ready to swap out my 500 FSIP controller with a 700 amp, and change out all of my #4 with #2 cables, new super heavy duty solenoid, so I'm going to build an OBC stud, I'm also assuming I will need to re-set the OBC, which made me start thinking maybe it was acting up when I initially did the #4 cable swap. Thanks for your input. Rob

Yup normal... You might see as much as 64.8 to 65 volts before the charger shuts off during the equalize/finish stage...

What is your plan to build an obc stud? I have been thinking about doing this because the #2 wire I have is to fat to fit through the hole.
