Remember that the warning light is not 48v.



To test it plug the brown wire to the negative of battery #2 (battery #1 being pack positive). That will provide it with +16v for testing.

How many volts does the battery light require? I have a 48V cart which is set up with 4-12V. Is the light just a 12v light?

It is not just a light bulb, there is also an infrared LED inside the warning light assembly.

You can use either 16v or 12v for testing, but remember that one side is already connected to +48v (battery #1), so You need to connect the brown wire that normally goes to the OBC to either the negative of Battery #1 (12v batteries) or negative of Battery #2 (8v batteries).

Cool, I had not seen the inside of one of these...

You really don't need the IR LED for anything, I am thinking they are just using different voltages to drive the IR LED or the regular one.

Can You see the back plane for resistor values? is the other light a white LED?

That would make sense, the IR LED would have a forward voltage of 1.5v and the white LED around 3.3v.

Not that I am aware of...

I think it is nice to have it if you are still using the OBC, although a digital voltmeter "SOC" display will provide the information needed to know if the charger is not working (low battery voltage), the light will let You know the charger ran over 16 hours, You lost AC power during charge and give You a visual indication when You reset the OBC.

Can't see anything. As seen the LED and the Bulb are both glued in. I didn't open any further. I just wanted to see if I had to buy a new OEM or if I could just use one from Allied Electronics.
