2AWG cable and the OBC
It seems that there is a great deal of difference in opinion as to the ability to get a big gauge cable (specifically 2awg) through the OBC and thus varying methods of bypass or passthrough have been created as such. Given the great debate of that, here are some photos for everyone showing 600Volt 2awg welding cable run through the factory OBC without any modifications to the OBC what so ever. This eliminates adding unnecessary extra connections in the system. This is done on the stock OBC from a Precedent and is OBC version 5.5 for those who are curious.

Re: 2AWG cable and the OBC
Good to revisit this information. It has been posted but newcomers may have easily missed it. Good advice for 'DIYers' .

Re: 2AWG cable and the OBC
Yea Dale, going bigger and trying to get the most we definitely don't want any more connections than we have to have in the system. I can help you out with that cable if you need some assistance.

Re: 2AWG cable and the OBC
I have the cable here already, and Scottyb, I do not think it will add any speed, it will just reduce one un needed connection, but, I did not even think about soldering the connection on after the cable was run thru the hole, I took the short cut method, and I know in my heart, it is OK, I will just reduce the connection count

Re: 2AWG cable and the OBC
Also if one of the connections on the OBC overheats you run the risk of melting the current sensor.

Also if you are torch soldering under the seat - you risk hydrogen explosion.
