Use a multi meter with an ohm setting Ω to read the throttle signal out put. Simply plug the test leads into the 2 spade connector ends of the controller signal wires. All the multi-step V glides output 5k-0.

Let's be careful here, the 2-wire Vglide Multi-Step potentiometer is a 0-5kΩ rheostat device (the one I linked on my post).

The 3-wire VGlide Multi-Step potentiometer is a 0-5v device.

If You measure the resistance from the 2-wires that connect to the controller throttle pins, You will get 5k-0Ω, but the controller will not work unless the 3rd wire is connected to pack negative.

My bad - you are correct there were a couple of early 1990 yrs of 0-5k V glides.....
Just not very common any more.
