Default Run/tow switch troubleshooting

If there is another thread that exists that can help me with this troubleshooting rather than starting a new one please let me know. My run/tow switch on my 2003 Club Car DS IQ seems to be in permanent "run" when the switch is in tow or in run. No difference between the two. I can drive my cart around the neighborhood in tow or in run and have no difference. Suggestions or another existing threads that can help? Thanks.

Just unplug the wires from the switch, if the cart no longer runs, the switch is bad and needs to be replaced.

If the cart still runs with the wires disconnected, You have other harness problems.

Thanks. Being that I can't get the cart into "tow" should I be extra careful since the batteries are connected? Any further safety measures?

The long but safer procedure:
Disconnect pack negative cable.
Wait 5 minutes for controller to discharge.
Disconnect one of the wires from the Tow/Run Switch and tape it to insulate.
Re-Connect pack negative.
Test the Cart
After the test just follow the same procedure to re-connect the wire to tow/run switch.

When I disconnected the Run/Tow switch from the cart it did not run. Bad switch. Recommendations for a good quality replacement? Possible to fix this one? 2003 Club Car DS IQ
