2002 PDS to 4x4 build
I am starting a new build starting with 2002 PDS cart.I have just spent the last two days making some of our sponsors Very$$ happy. I am building a 4x4
48 volt lifted,new motor,500 amp controller,2 ga. cables-the works. Now to the question,cart will be 48 volts,is there a definitive answer to the 6-8vlt. vs. 8- 6vlt debate? Also,if you go with 8 batteries,any suggestions on where to put the last two?(My wife had a suggestion when she saw what I was spending,but I don't think they'll fit there!ouch!) P1010004.jpg |

I do not recommend you do this on a PDS platform. So I will be watching this closely and hope to learn something

I am just a little curious who you talked to about this project when you were planning and buying parts?

Re: 2002 PDS to 4x4 build
Hey Scotty,thanks for your replies
I did alot of reading on here(maybe not enuf) and Scott Austin at ImaginitiveMfg. via e-mails. His original kit(the one i'm getting) comes with a 48 volt,14hp motor. He has a new kit out now, that is two speed and all shaft drive, but it does'nt come with the motor. The info he sent me says you can use it with your stock motor, controller etc 4x4 ezgo kit.zip Last edited by shopdog39702; 06-10-2011 at 12:47 AM.. Re: 2002 PDS to 4x4 build
I think a series cart is better suited to a 4 wheel drive conversion. What motor and controller are you going to use? What voltage? Have you talked to any motor builders about this?

Re: 2002 PDS to 4x4 build
Hey again scottyb,I may be making an expensive mistake, but I guess I'm at the mercy of the guys at Imaginative.
The kit I have coming Includes a new motor they advertise as 14hp(don't know what model) and they are also providing a 500 amp controller that they are programing for the application.I am thinking this isn't the first one they've ever done. |
