The first "hybrid" I ever read about was in an early Mother Earth News (more evidence that I'm NOT a repTublican!). It was an Opel GT that had a jet engine starter motor in place of the IC engine. There were a couple of batteries (pretty much used as big capacitors) and a 5KW generator in the hatch. That was what kindled my first interest in alternative propulsion for cars.

My daughter is selling her '93 Honda Del Sol. If I didn't have this '84 Marathon to tear down and rebuild this winter, I'd consider converting the Del Sol to an electric car.

I seem to have WAAAAAY more ideas than I have time to implement 'em...
