I didn't do that once, and drove head-on into my neighbor's buggy!

Sounds like you and I should leave the carts at home.

Actually, when I park, I'm in the habit of setting my FNR to the direction I plan on going next. That means I have developed a bad habit of just stomping on the gas without checking it. At the time I stopped to talk to a neighbor, I was gonna go forward when I left. Then a neighbor parked in front of me. After half an hour or so, and a lot of beers, I hopped in and stomped on it. He was less than five feet away, so...

That's classic!!

Unfortunately after "a lot" of beers there's really nothing you can do except try to remember the story you can tell at a later date.

I know that place, we pass it on the tollway on our way to our seasonal site in Wisconsin. Isn't there a small airstrip associated with that campground?

There was. They turned it into camping spaces.

That's the closest seasonal campground to the city that I know of. Highway noise is gotta be a hassle for SOME of those sites. Always wanted to stop in there and check it out. Guess I'll need to leave the Gulfstream in the hangar though, LOL.

Yeah the highway noise is noticeable but it's like if you lived near RR tracks you tend to forget about it. It's a nice place, not pristine but nice and it's close. Great people as well with the same desire for carting as there are quite a few nice ones. They have a nice airplane hanger left over from the airport days that my fully restored P-51 Mustang would fit nicely into but I don't think crash landing it directly into the hanger would be a good idea.
