making struts for roof
At the RV park last year someone took the roof and struts off the cart with a rear work body.
I have found the roof, it is in good condition. However they disposed the struts. We have a sister cart that has a roof and struts for pattern Has anyone made struts for a roof? What did you use for material? We do not have access to a welder (to simple) I know they could buy one, hey I just got them to buy battereis Thanks for any help E. Sven |

Re: making struts for roof
If you can find a place that makes awning's for doors and windows, they probably sale the tubing you could use. If you had your measurements they might even bend them for you.
Thats the only thing I could think of. Hope this helps!!!!!! |

Re: making struts for roof
I made a set real easy and cheap. Go to Home Depot Lowes, etc and buy a couple sections of electrical wire conduit (around $10 for a 8 ft peice) and a conduit bender.(about $25) measure out where the bends need to be or drill out a new attachment points on the cart. tubing cuts easy with a hacksaw, spray paint black or leave silver and your done. the tubing has a rust proof coating and is ment to be used outdoors so it wont rust. use stainless steel screws and bolts.coat the ends that you cut with clear coat if you dont paint them to prevent rust at the saw point. you can also buy end caps used for the bottom of chair legs for the ends of the tubing for a finished look

cliffbeach,
I was thinking about that, but did you use 1/2" or 3/4" conduit? Thanks |
