Default question about lift kit on 2004 ezgo

I installed a drop axle lift kit and the rear kit seemed to have done something to the brakes. The brake cables stretched and had to be loosened (it locked both tires up from the pressure) Now the driver side wheel works fine but the passenger side cable it too long and when the brake pedal is pressed it does not have enough pull to tighten the brakes but if you tighten the bracket underneath the cart then the other tire is too tight and will not move with the brake off. Thank for the help.

You may have to open up the drums and make sure the automatic star adjuster is working properly. The compensator, the part where the two cables connect, can only compensate so much.

Go to the stickies and download the owners, maintenance and parts manuals. They have good instructions on drum brakes and the parts manual has a good exploded diagram.

Good luck.

I take the cables out of their normal hangers before a lift install for that reason, they are too short if you don't. I just let them hang loose under the cart and after everything is complete I put a zip tie to hold them up.
