79 Club Car, What's this extra solenoid?
Been fixing up this old Caroche and someone has installed a sixth solenoid that has its coil wired in parallel with the high speed solenoid. It had a piece of #4 wire going to one of the terminals on the motor and to the buss on the other solenoids. It also has a toggle switch that could be flipped to prevent the coil from being energized.
Is this some sort of go-faster modification? The motor has five terminals on it and I disconnected the wire and can't remember where it went. Is it possible to add 36V to one terminal on these old motors and gain a mph or two? Why would someone make this modification? |

sounds like a rigged boost switch sorta like hitting the nitros..........i would disable it and forget it was ever there because if you use it one to many times it can burn up the motor and may even melt the resistor coils.......caroche is to nice of an old cart to have that..............................
