Default how to test the resistor coil

Ok I disconnected the batts and show different resistances on my 1988 marathon. Just replaced the speed control board due to arcing. It still arcs and it wont move till it hits the 3rd post. Then the speed is the same as full on. So I thought it would be the resistor coil but I measured three different resistances. Questions:
1 what are the resistances for the coil
2 could it be the motor

Ohh should have mentioned reverse is full speed as well

Found it.... middle resistor coil was toast and bouncing around in the toaster box, the others were burnt at the connector. Pulled it apart, cut out the burnt parts of the coils and bent them to mount. bolted it up and good to go

glad you found the problem, yes a broke or touching coil will mess up the whole works,, sounds like you need some new coils

The actual resistance of these coils is pretty **** low so it's not trivial to measure them. Your fix in the other post is just fine to get some more life from them.
