The Powerdrive chargers are all compatible with each other, so the PD1 will work just fine on that cart.

The batteries are from 08 and the charger was on for more than 16 hours. Is it safe to say it is the OBC?

If they were pretty well discharged before you tried to charge them, that may of caused the problem. I have had it happen to me. Then the next time they charge fine. Be sure to check fluid levels. Depending on how old they are one battery ay be a bit weak and not coming to full charge with the rest and then boiling.
