Default Frustrated!!! 06 Precedent

So my cart was running perfect and fast! I go to hook after market headlights up on it and realize the ground wire I used went to the battery gauge which is 48v. I took it for a drive and it takes off fast then slowwwwwsssss down and creeps.
I then change the ground to one of the batteries at the end of the series and it still does the same thing, almost like my solenoid is bad again.
Can anyone advise why the change..... before I messed with the headlights it was very fast. Even if I shut the lights off it runs slow....WTHHHHHHHHH
HELP!!!

Put the cart in f and Roll it by hand. See if it beeps and slows down. Sounds like a speed sensor issue is putting it in limp mode. The lights may not have anything to do with it.

Of course we leave for VA Beach tomorrow to go camping and am taking the golf cart. I placed it in F and it did not beep or slow down. I tried this before with putting in R to see if it beeped and slowed down and it did at that time.
So do you think it's the speed sensor? If so, is the speed sensor just a wire that connects to the motor? Can you send a picture or a website what it looks like? I have the speed magnet that I have never put in it.
Thank you so much for your help!

Yes probably the speed sensor. Click on the site sponsor link at the top of page a lot of them carry one. You need to see if yours has two little bolts or clips in and buy the same one

Thanks for your help. I am buying one from a local dealer here in Delaware. I hope it works.

FYI, that speed magnet won't work without a working speed sensor. Just wanted to throw that out there. A lot of people don't realize that.
