Default Terminal protectant spray

I bought some CRC battery terminal protectant and sprayed all the terminals and posts of my battery cables since I recently changed out the cables. That was Monday and the red spray is still tacky to the touch on Wed two days later. Should it take this long to dry? I put on what I would consider a light even coat.

Well I learned something there. I could have sworn that the red that was on there before had dried to a film. Thanks for the reply.

Yep it never dries. It may get dirt on it over time which will cause it to not be so sticky...

In another thread, Gornoman said you have to disconnect the wire from the terminal and clean and protect the terminal and connector separately for it to be effective.

Having said that, because I have 65 carts to take care of, and because it is the highly inaccessible back terminal that corrodes over, I have been cleaning them (terminal cleaner and wire brush) and spraying terminal protectant on them still connected.

& Gornoman is right . . . a month later they are corroded over again.

3M makes a red terminal-protector that does dry,it looks like primer when dry.It works great too.The dark-colored ones are usually a greasy-consistency,and stay tacky.Hope this helps.

When using Terminal-Protectants,Always assemble the connections first.Otherwise the protectant can insulate the connections, preventing a complete circuit.Hope this helps.

What? what stuff? The industry has been using this product forever. I think you had other problems. I have never seen it deteriorate a connection.
