Re: looking for 1/4" tinted folding windshield (txt)
Looking for 1/4" thick with Type A hold down. I know 1/4" windshields exist so if someone can point me to one with Type A picture I will send you a beer.

Re: looking for 1/4" tinted folding windshield (txt)
Ezgo replied to my request. They only make 3/16" windshields. That means the 1/4" ones are all aftermarket. The search continues.

You worried that much about 1/16 of an inch?

Re: looking for 1/4" tinted folding windshield (txt)
That 1/16 of an inch makes a huge difference. The actual measurements were more than 1/16" between the two for me. The 3/16" measured light and the 1/4" measured heavy. My cart came with a 3/16" windshield and it would bow terribly at highway speed when hauling it on an open trailer. Eventually that took its toll on the windshield and it broke and flew off the cart on the highway luckily not hitting any cars. I replaced it with a 1/4" windshield and the difference is night and day. I watch it in the mirror and have yet to see it bow like the other one did.
I'm sure that different manufactures use different materials which could be a big factor in the strength. All I know is the 1/4" is a lot stronger than the 3/16" that I had originally. |

I wasn't gonna say anything, but my one piece aftermarket windshield is shy of 3/16" as well.

Re: looking for 1/4" tinted folding windshield (txt)
My 3/16 windshield bowed so bad towing it on the trailer it scratched the paint on the cowl. Now when I tow it, I take it off.

Re: looking for 1/4" tinted folding windshield (txt)
Sc, I know eagle sells EZ go windshields because I have them on all my carts. Not sure of the thickness though. I will measure one and let you know. When towing mine for short trips I just stick a dog bone sponge between the cowl and the bottom of the wind shield.

Eagle windshields measure 3/16" as mentioned earlier in this thread. That's why yours bows while towing.
