Unitended Shift into Reverse!!
I have a 98' EZ-GO converted to 48v with a DCX controller. Runs just great, but yesterday, after being in hibernation for most of the winter, I took it out for a short run to a neighbors house. About a half mile out, the reverse siren starts to softly sound off, and then without further notice, at about 20 mph, the cart shifts violently into reverse, and screeches to a stop. By now, the siren is on full blast, and the cart will only move in reverse, not responding to any FWD or REV shift changes, and the siren will not shut off. I switched off both the key and the service toggle, but the siren is still blaring, so I disconnected the batteries and it slowly faded out to quiet.
An hour later, I reconnected the batteries and slowly drove home, but just as I got to my house, the siren again started to go off, and the cart again shifted itself into reverse. The thing is possessed!! Anybody had such experience? What could the cause be? |

Re: Unitended Shift into Reverse!!
I agree. I would change out the fwd/rev switch. Best price is on ebay.

Re: Unitended Shift into Reverse!!
never heard of this happening before . the first place I would look is the f/r switch for any signs of melting or burnt wires.
