Lester 48v 25 amp charger any good
My neighbor has a Lester 48V 25 amp charger. If I change the plug to the D style would I be able to use it on my future upgrade from 36 to 48V or would I be better off buying a new charger.

He wants $225 for it, I see new ones (DPI) for $285 + shipping.

that is a really awesome charger (very powerful) , but not for 12 volt batteries. it was designed for a 8x 6volt battery pack. It will do the job very well, but, much newer and more advanced chargers are available now for a affordable price (and usa made). Get a DPI, and set it for your batteries (yes- you can set it). The lester 25a model is a bit much for even 8v battery setups.
