Re: Explain the popularity of the KF82 engine cars
My kf82 was a carryall I got from a govdeals auction. It had no compression due to a slightly bent valve. I straightened it out and it ran great. It was pretty quiet (even though these are known for rusted out mufflers due to the location) it was quiet and smooth. It never leaked a drop. It just had no power compared to a FE290. That said I definitely wouldn’t buy another cart with the KF82 unless I just bought it planning a swap.
And my caroche had factory headlights. :) |

Re: Explain the popularity of the KF82 engine cars
So they actually made factory lights for Caroches? The only ones I ever saw just had that weird front end that has 'indentions' where lights and a grille should go, but being fiberglass I wasn't about to attempt to do so.
One had the three pedals seized (never could get that right) so hitting gas hit the brake and park brake. The other had a bad microswitch somewhere (only one speed--wide open) and I removed the switch assembly from this 'tube' and out came Humpty Dumpty and I never did successfully put him back together. Both had bad brakes though, and those parts are unobtainium. So they ultimately got scrapped. Nobody here wanted the bodies, they though they were ugly as I did too. |
