How many of those batteries do you have installed?

There are two batteries.

So that's 160A continuous or 360A @ 6 seconds peak.

Your Navitas/Deamon setup may be exceeding this.

Another scenario is that one battery is not working so you only have 80A continuous and 180A @ 6 seconds peak, which would double your problems.

Regen could also be a problem at only 60A (30A per battery).

What are you doing when it trips off? Is it at random times, going up a hill, braking, accelerating, etc.
How long does it take to charge up when you connect it back to the battery and how many amps is yo0ur charger? This will help us determine if it's really a flat battery that's causing your problems or if its the BMS going into over current protection.

Cheers
Pat.

It usually trips and shuts off if I accelerate to fast or “punch it”. Everything shuts off and I flip the on/off switches to off and then back on. No problems charging, that I’m aware of, but I don’t track the time. I usually plug it up at night before bed. Navitas controller max armature set at 400 amps and regen is set to 40 amps.

Ok, now we’re getting somewhere, it’s only taken two pages.

With my upgrades, I can only drive 3 miles before I completely drain and kill batteries in the evening with lights on.
You are not draining the batteries after 3 miles, you’re batteries cannot supply current required by your motor/controller configuration when accelerating quickly. You also say that you’ve got a total of 96Ah but only have two batteries. Those batteries are only 30Ah each. The math doesn’t add up. Can you please clarify.

First thing, make sure both batteries are working correctly as one battery alone will definitely not be able to run your cart, even two is marginal. Turn on one battery at a time and see if the cart runs, this will indicate if one battery is completely dead.

If both batteries are working as they should, contact Navitas in regards to dialing down your controller or at a minimum, turn the max amps down to 350A. You can keep slowly turning it down until the problem stops. You shouldn’t see too much of a performance hit.

Lastly, you could get another EAGL battery and have three, or remove the two you have and get a single battery with higher performance specifications.

Cheers
Pat.

As Pat said, you need to limit your performance until the BMS doesn't shut down under any conditions. I would probably limit it to 300 amps max and see how that works.

I’ll dial it down tomorrow and see how it goes. It would really be nice to be able to drive more than 2 miles with lights and Bluetooth speakers on…and not having to push it back home!

Unfortunately, I’m better at swiping a card than understanding why it’s not working as upgrades were sold to me.

The current draw is exceeding what the battery's BMS will allow to be drawn from the cells more than likely.

Call Navitas tech support on Monday and they will get you all sorted out on what your settings should be on your TXS3 for that battery.

https://www.navitasvs.com/contact

You can also fill out that form and they will call you back too. Phone number for tech support is in the link. Doesn't cost you anything to call. Experienced techs and it is a free call.
