Tough to get in gear
My 1992 CC is very tough to get into forward and reverse. You need to lean on the shifter and rock the cart a little. At first I thought it was drag on the belt, because the motor is set to idle all the time and not shut off. I have the 200+ rpm spring but havent installed it yet. I was looking at the motor and the belt isnt even moving and it still has trouble going into gear. Any ideas? Possibly stiffen the rear bracket? Thanks

Re: Tough to get in gear
Bulky my CC has a 16hp in it and mine does this every once in a while sometimes I have to turn off the key then switch gears then restart motor
The problem is the belt should not be turning when you change gears ,You might fix this by turning down your idle And I also believe putting in a power spring in your clutch will help OOPs just reread your post yikes your belt isn't even moving . try switching at the rear end with your hand ,Is it shifting hard there as well? Re: Tough to get in gear
FYI about being hard to get in gear. I was having the same problem which I determined was caused by the belt moving when the engine was at idle speed. After reducing the idle speed, it shifts great. However, I emailed a friend who owns a Club Car business asking him about the theory of driving the cart in reverse and then slamming it into forward to make it easier to shift. Here is his reply: Sorry I did not get back to you sooner and I am glad that you got the problem fixed. I was working on answering emails this morning. Just so you know...what you read in the forum about driving in reverse and slamming it into forward is a possible fix for a stuck synchronizer. If you were to try that with it shifting ok...you are right! That is a good way to lock up the rear end or scatter parts in the tranny. Again, it is an acceptable way of fixing a stuck synchronizer, but can also cause it to stick where it will not run forward or reverse.
