Yes indeed on a modern engine that will work fine, but on an older engine (and I can't put a date on it) the valves would not foul the engine so I guess that they would drop into the cylinder even if the piston was at TDC. Again I am not sure if the valves on a golf cart do foul the piston. Anyone ever broken a timing belt and subsequently bent the valves?
Not that it is any consolation to Doozerann but I prefer to drop a length of nylon string through the plug hole and then wind the piston up, thus holding the valves in place.

Not on a big old V8 but yes on a little twin it is going to drive both pistons down, good point.

Discovered the red wire and white wire on coil were reversed, but it steel ran, like crap but it ran dose this make sence?
