Default 2013 Star ev 36 volt motor replacement?

Has anyone used a motor from something else in its place. Looks like an EZGO motor might work.
Not looking to go 48v. Just installed new Trojans 3 months ago.
Motor brushes are shot and having trouble finding replacements. 🤬
