1993 Club car ds gas doesnt start anymore

I have a 1993 club car ds gas that wont start, ive been working on it for a while, adding accessories onto it. One day i brought it outside to start it to give the battery a charge and now all of a sudden it wont start. I tried a new battery but nothing happens when i push the pedal down, it wont even turn over, I hear it click in the the throttle box but nothing happens. Im not sure where all the wires plug in inside the box itself. When I connect two peices of metal to both studs on the solenoid it will turn over and the belts will keep spinning but once you remove the metal it just shuts off, there was no problem with the engine starting before. I have no idea what to do.
