The Build- 88 Club Car Ds!
I'm doing a Sort of updating/restoration on my DS, Nothing to "aftermarket" for the exterior yet, but new and clean.
Also, adding HD Clutch Springs, K and N air filter, and a Carb Jet. Here are the pics of the progress. I'll keep adding photos over the next week or so as i go, the back is just sitting on there right now, going to take it back off to put in my Clutch Springs and do some motor work. Going to Pin Stripe it and add some Dallas Cowboys Logos... should be pretty nice when done! |

Re: The Build- 88 Club Car Ds!
I did think of one question this morning, I have the big Button style choke, the new body i put on doesn't have a cut out for it. Do i need that, especially sense i'll have the K and N filter?

If your using the cone style universal K&N filter... no you don't have to cut in the choke button, (but, you won't have a choke)
If your using a K&N to fit in your air box, then yes, you'll have to cut it in! |

If you do go with a K&N cone filter, you can sell your unused air bellows to this guy:

Re: The Build- 88 Club Car Ds!
I was going to go with this filter
http://www.cartpartsplus.com/universal-k-n-filter.html would that work and does that mean i don't need the choke? I use the choke quite a bit though... |

Re: The Build- 88 Club Car Ds!
The description for that filter says "Use this filter on Club Car or Yamaha when you want to remove factory air box". So you would lose your choke. Not worth it IMO. If it were me I'd make the hole in the blue body so you can use the stock air box. I too use my choke all the time when it's cold. Would suck to not have it.

Re: The Build- 88 Club Car Ds!
coming along...
Got the body all done and put back together. Broke the Clutch Slides trying to get the Helix off the clutch. So, now I have to hope that the local shop will have a set or no golf for me this weekend. I have to ask, I didn't get around to replacing the other spring in the Driven Clutch... is that one important or is the Drive clutch more important? Still have to pin stripe it and add the Star. Throw the clutch back in it and decide to do the other spring. Let me know what you guys think on that. thanks! |
