I've seen the cheap ones ($30-$60)and the OEM one for $300. Will the cheap ones work?

Is there a a deep cleaning way of getting it cleaned out?
Pipeman1 you can clean carb pretty easy... It may have some moisture or trash in the bowl. There is a 10mm bolt under the bowl that will remove it to drain/clean and inspect. I would try that before removing to clean carb or buying new carb.To remove carb use needle nose pliers to remove return spring. Screw driver or pliers to remove air hose depending on clamp. 10mm wrench to remove nuts on carb. Careful not to lose gasket on the bottom of float bowl drain bolt. Just give it a good blasting with some carb cleaner and reassemble! If that doesn't help I would try a new carb. I have noticed that float on some of the older carbs is usually the problem when cleaning doesn't help. Good luck.

Thanks for the great info! The engine seems to run fine but almost always needs choked to start even after its been running for 5-10 minutes. It also kind of pops when I decelerate?
I think the float is bad and it's over loading with fuel.
I have a new ($25) carb coming from ebay so I'll try it and see if this fixes all of this..

"popping" on deceleration usually means a lean situation. Maybe try adjust fuel mix again.
