Default Help understanding key switch

2001 ezgo series txt freedom 36v.

I was hoping someone could help me understand the key switch. Its a stock switch and controls the head/tail lights as well.

Im going to be replacing the current switch with one like the photo below. Plus, Id like to understand what is running through the switch and what its sending out.

Current wiring-sorry for any incorrect terms

-blue and light blue wire connected to one post. A separate wire that is the same color and connected to a different post. Ive traced these wires and one goes to the fuse panel wires and the other goes out to the lights. Since I knew what these two did, I used my dvm to check for continuity for the first time. These two posts have continuity when the switch is clicked twice. These are obviously for the lights.

-There's a red wire that comes directly from the in dash soc meter. On the red wire is a green wire piggybacked to it. The green wire goes out to the ITS.

-a solid blue wire that goes out to a (switch) on the fr mechanism. This has continuity with the red/green wire above with one click of the switch.

Are 36v running through the switch from the soc?
What is it activating with the wires to the fr and the its?

When I hook up the new switch, that only has 2 wires, can I do the following?
Red and green together on one side and the blue on the other?
The headlights will be run off of a separate switch.

Thanks

Blue wire is the voltage source coming from MS-2 on the F/R assembly.
Green wire is the switched voltage that is forwarded to MS-3 in pedal box.
Red wire is the remote on for the LED bar-graph type SoC meter.

Connect Blue wire to one terminal on new switch and connect Red and Green wire to other terminal.

This is a 3 position switch with 2 switches in one.
There is the cart 36v ignition (for lack of a better understood term)
And the 12v lighting switch
So you have 2 different voltage feeds and outputs.

Thanks guys. I've been reading the heck out of this forum (made it to pg 595 today) and anytime I see something from either of you I make sure to pay attention. Tons of great info from others as well.

I've learned a lot but still don't really know much! The explanation of how current is moving through the switch, and to what, is a big help in gaining a little better overall understanding of how the cart works. As you can see in my thread below, I've got mine down to the frame and making a few changes.

Scotty, Friday night I got on your site and ordered new cables, reverse contact, dc reducer, and digital meter. I'm the guy that emailed you way too many times trying to figure out what I wanted to get. Thanks again for your patience. I'll still be looking to upgrade the voltage and controller but am going to stick with the above order for now. I've been studying, and saving, any diagram I find on adding the ordered components and think I'm finally starting to get it. I live in Northern California, and saw you're in SoCal, so hopefully it's a quick travel on the brown truck for the new gear.

Thanks again
