Re: Yamaha g22ey
I believe there is one in the service or owners manual but it may be faster just to ask me or another member. What is it you are looking for? Meanwhile I will look for the diagram(s).

Re: Yamaha g22ey
Thanks for the diagram. Everything checks out except there is no motor speed sensor. This is a friends cart so I dont know all the particulars of how and when it failed. All controller voltages are correct but no speed sensor is installed. The plug is there on the harness but the sensor is missing entirely from the end of the motor.
When I depress the accelerator the cart wants to move just sloghtly but then ceases. Can this cart opperate at all without the sensor? The reason I ask is the plug was a bit dusty and I cant immagine it could have just fallen out of the motor and unplugged from the harness. |

Re: Yamaha g22ey
The motor speed sensor is for regen, that is, regenerative braking. If you go full throttle downhill and then let off, it won't runaway, it will attempt to use the motor as a generator to charge the batteries and slow the cart in the process. It is possible for a regen cart to have been fitted with a motor without a speed sensor by someone. The cart should work without the speed sensor.

Re: Yamaha g22ey
The motor has the fitting for the sensor and I can see the magnet turn when I rock the cart back and forth, it also has the plug for the sensor.
If this motor and controller require this sensor would it run without it? The cart tries to move when I depress the accelerator but it just rocks forward slightly and stlops, each time I hit the accelerator it does this. |

Re: Yamaha g22ey
Oh okay I see. It does run without it as other people have tried it. Does it do the same in reverse? Perhaps the batteries are low?

Re: Yamaha g22ey
No movement at all in reverse. Battery pack reads 49.6vdc
