Make sure you hold the throttle wide open with your hand while checking compression. 120 is pretty low for a FE290. Should be in the 165-170psi range. I'd adjust the valves also and check it again. When they are on the tight side it can cause compression to become lower as well, easy 10 minute fix fortunately.
