Default Wiring up my ECO battery

I have about 2' extra wiring going from the charger to the battery can I just coil it up tightly or do I need to shorten it?

Coiling up the extra wire is fine. If you can make a factory gade terminal connection when shortening that would be fine too.

Could I cut the cable shorten it and use butt a connector?

Every connection in a wire adds resistance. Resistance adds heat when current is applied to a circuit. Less connections are always better. Adding a butt connector is another connection, and not a very good one at that.

You’re better off crimping a new ring terminal on the end (assuming there’s what it’s equipped with) as long as you have proper crimpers to crimp the terminal correctly. If not you’re better off bundling the excess with a zip tie.

Knowing your history a little I suggest you simply coil the extra wire up and be done with it.
