Default ways to clear 28's

I was wondering can you use a 5 in. drop axle with 6 in. drop spindles or would it be a death trap and how can you clear the 28's in the rear block or shackle

Nothing I'd do plus you would have to be real creative with your tie-rods.

Both, nothing I'd do either and your motor would be on such an angle you would have to do something there.

with a 8.5" lift you can run up too 26" tires and you do need to make a drop down bracket for the engine .. here is some pics

Going with an 8" lift is going to put it up really high and it's going to be fairly unstable. wicked uses LT frontends which is a whole nother animal vs a drop axle. It can be done with a drop axle and keeping it alittle lower if your willing. You'll need to move the front axle out a couple inches to clear the brake pedal lever. This means you'll have to weld a plate to the top of the axle where the spring would bolt on to move it away. or get some longer springs (allsports makes a drop axle for that year with a plate welded on the top (like the newer style steering uses where the rack bolts to. They also have a 8" lift) that moves the axle out some.(I can get you pics of that axle, I have it on my limo cart) You need ST spindles or I guess risers for the ones you have already. then you'll need to use, around 1"-2", blocks between the body and the rear of the front springs for the additional lift for clearance. this way you shouldn't have to worry about any funky tie rod set ups. of course you already know about the back. It's not that hard to do and you can change a little here and there for fitting. I'd get the tires first, my 27" tires on my cart measure 28 3/4" tall on the rims so just because it says 28" doesn't mean it'll be exactly that. some are more, some are less, some are dead on. it just kinda depends.
