Speed Upgrades for a TXT EZGO
Can anyone please give me some ideas on cost efficient ways to increase the speed? I don't have a $1000.00 to speand and if that is the only way then I will live with what I have.

Add 2 additional batteries and a 48volt solenoid.

A TXT is a controller cart, and 48v to a stock controller will produce ONE small puff of smoke....and then nothing.
dbeck907, what year and drive system do you currently have? |

C'mon gorno...everyone knows the magic smoke stays in the little box.
But seroiusly.....DO NOT add 2 extra batteries unless you have a controller rated for it. dbeck, whats your budget? |

Re: Speed Upgrades for a TXT EZGO
There is away around the 36 volt delema for 48 to work. You have to get creative though. When the gas pedal is pushed to wide open you could have a floor switch that activates another selonoid to bypass the controller and add the two more batteries straight to the motor. The only thing wrong with this is you have no control of the speed, it's whatever the motor will do. If the switch fails while energized wouldn't be good either I suppose. This would take some time to do but is very doable.
