Default seat wood

Can anyone give me the measurement of the wood for the seat of an '86 DS.
I would like to make this out of aluminum we have at work. Have it planned already. My mother used to upholster furniture and she can sew an edge band on the vinyl cover so I can clamp it instead of just using screws through it which would probably tear the fabric.

Take your seat to work and trace out the old seat.

The seat bottom wood base is 39-3/4 x 16-3/4 on my 1990. Anything else I can measure for you?

i just measure my opening, put some nice radiuses on the corner and dry fitted and bamo! new seat! i used 3/4 outdoor grade plywood. painted all sides to give it that "extra" attention!
went to a major fabric store and picked up all the marine grade vinyl to cover both the seat and the seat backs for around 15 bucks! they have a 50 oercent off sale around presidents day. get the coupon for 50 percent off any 1 item.

If you lost the seat I would do something like this. Make a template out of card board first, to get a good fit and allow a little room all around for the vinyl.
