Default Coil ground wire?

I just recently bought an '89 Club Car DS. As some of you know, I could not get spark out of the coil. Another member advised me to disconnect the ground wire from the flywheel. I was able to get spark. Now, the key switch will not turn off the engine. My question is, If I run that ground wire to the negative on the key switch, will it interfere with anything?

You mean like it idles even after you shut the key off? I had that happen on mine when the white wire was disconnected.

Yup! The white wire on the starter was connected to the black wire from the flywheel...

I looked for a wiring diagram that included the ignition system but haven't found anything yet. I wanted to know myself how the rev limiter is wired and where it is for sure. PM RSP (Roy), he has helped me and others in the past and has a KF82 cart himself I believe. He knows his stuff.
