Default yamaha gas 4 stroke cart identity unknown

hello guy the site looks cool and im glad it here.. I have a Yamaha gas golf cart 4 stroke I bought the other day the guy said there was a burnt wire was all that needed to be fixed and it would run again. I have been doing some checking to properly identify the cart and the serial tag is under seat at floorboard and engine compartment meet it reads J55 109637 well for the life of me I cant find a match for it on Yamaha sites or anywhere for that matter I believe its a g2 model but don't know much about golf carts

According to the Yamaha site I believe you have a 1990 G2A.

Take a look at this site. http://yamahagolfcar.com/modelLookup.aspx

If you look at that chart under the G2 you will see the "begining id" number for a 1990 is J55-100120
and the begining id of a 1991 is J55-200101

Your number is in between these two which would make it a 1990, hope that makes sense.

No need to feel stupid, it took me a little while to figure it out when I first got mine too.

If you can post up some pictures of what you're running into I'm sure somebody can be of help. I'm not so sure I can be of much help though but there are a lot of guys on here that know their stuff.
