I have a 2007 Yamaha drive and I received a primary clutch for free from my supplier, so here is a question, will this clutch on the left in picture fit my Yamaha drive. The new clutch I believe its out of a Yamaha g14 someone set me straight if possible.

Re: Yamaha G29 CLUTCH QUESTION
That is the correct clutch, it was implemented in 2012. You really should use the matched rear clutch and belt that is designed to fit with that primary. I dont think the "team" clutch you had is available any longer.

Re: Yamaha G29 CLUTCH QUESTION
Cgtech beat me to it. You will need the new style secondary clutch as well to match up with the primary along with the correct belt that is shorter than the original belt. Yamaha didnt have much success and reliablilty with the team clutches is the reason for the update in the middle of 2012.

Re: Yamaha G29 CLUTCH QUESTION
Thanks guys, I am not having trouble with the original primary, so I will use it this summer and purchase the matching secondary then for the updated primary and replace both next winter.

Re: Yamaha G29 CLUTCH QUESTION
I have a question. The old and the new clutches appear to be of the same diameter, so why would you need a shorter belt if you switch from the old to the new? The engine position doesn't move right?

Re: Yamaha G29 CLUTCH QUESTION
The primary clutches on the new style 2012.5-2014 and the team primary are the same diameter. The secondaries are totally different sizes. My 2013 cart the belt is about 2 or 3 inches shorter than the belt for the 09 model. The 2013 belt you can lay it inside the 09 belt when both are on the table. The new secondaries went back with a helix.

Re: Yamaha G29 CLUTCH QUESTION
Good pic of both primaries with the covers off. The newer style looks like what is on atvs and sidexsides with belt driven transmissions.
