Re: Express L6 - Gas or Electric
I have one of the first L6 72v they produced. After having it for several months I could not be more impressed. It is my 9th or 10th cart. Having owned 2 EZgo Electrics, 1 EZgo gas, a Precedent electric and a CC Marathon gas, a Harley, a ParCar, a gas Yama, and a GEM, I have never owned a cart that did everything well. This one does. I live in a hilly neighborhood and after tuning it will run up every hill without losing speed at 26 mph and could be programmed higher. It will carry everything you can pile on and even low speed torque is incredible. I have no idea of the range because I have never seen the meter fall below 3/4 and never seen a performance degradation. If you are buying a new 6 passenger and have the ability to have the controller programmed you should go with the electric l6. I will say when delivered they are slow to accelerate and max out at 16 mph. This may be one reason for lack of reviews, it is just not a very exciting cart before the controller is reprogrammed. Stock it performs very much like the 48v DC L6.

So - assuming I buy a 72 volt Express L6, how do I get the controller tweaked? I have kids, so I don't really want more than 20-25 mph max, but I do want torque since we've got some big hills and turning those tires on our sandy beach will be tough. I don't think the EZGo Dealer will do this, would they? |

Re: Express L6 - Gas or Electric
No dealer here would or could reprogram it. I was told it could not be done but a member on here helped me out. I don't want to volunteer his services but I`d bet he may pop up again on this thread and maybe he can work something out for you. He worked wonders on mine and my buddies L6.

Re: Express L6 - Gas or Electric
Those carts really need to be done in person. Sending the controller to me is not a very good option. I like to fine-tune the programming to the cart in real time with that sophisticated of a controller..

Hmmm,m. Ok so does that change my decisions? To seems like you're an enormous resource for making this viable vs gas.

Re: Express L6 - Gas or Electric
The 9.4 HP continuous duty rated electric motor of the L6 is roughly equivelent to a 37.5 HP gas engine. Peak rating is 10 times the contunuous rating for short periods of time.

Re: Express L6 - Gas or Electric
I just bought a 72v L6 and put in my vote for it, smooth
Power and drives for days before needing charge. On a funny side note the owners manual states " do not allow more than one passenger ride at a time" Gee why did I spend the money for a 6 pax ? Lol |
